Introduction
the present study, we aim to explore the impact of social media on mental health. With the rapid development of social media in recent years, its influence on individuals' lives has become increasingly significant. The overuse of social media has been linked to a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and addiction. Therefore, it is crucial to investigate the relationship between social media use and mental health to develop effective strategies for promoting positive mental health outcomes.，Methodology: In this study, we conducted a survey among 1000 college students aged 18-24 years old. The survey included questions about their social media usage habits, including frequency of use, duration of use, and types of content consumed. Additionally, we assessed the participants' mental health using standardized scales such as the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI).，Results: Our findings indicate that excessive social media use is significantly associated with poorer mental health outcomes, particularly in terms of increased levels of anxiety and depression.
